Thanksgiving Thoughts on a Great Team
I would never be able to get a job at Tivix today. And I’m thankful for that, because that means I’ve successfully helped to build an organization more capable than myself.
There were two tipping points in making this happen: one was meeting Sumit Chachra (who is 10x smarter than I will ever be), and co-founding Tivix with him. The other was meeting Dariusz Fryta (who is 6.7x smarter than me), and having him open our European office.
Sumit has led the recruiting of our US team, and Dariusz has led the recruiting of our Europe team. As the adage goes, “A” players hire “A” players, while “B” players hire “C” players. Sumit and Dariusz are both “A” players.
And as a result, today we have an extraordinary team of 32 bright, innovative, hard-working people who out-perform me every day.
On this Thanksgiving day, that’s what I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for having met two guys who then put together the best global team I’ve ever worked with. Happy Thanksgiving, all.
“A small team of A+ players can run circles around a giant team of B and C players.”
