During my time with Tivix, I’ve seen and experienced rapid growth and have used nearly every major piece of technology in a web stack. One question clients consistently ask is, “How can I scale? What happens if we start to get big?” Most of the time the answer is that it’s a good problem to have, and that our default stack (Django, mysql/postgres, memcached) will carry you much further than you realize. But having a good fundamental grasp of the landscape once you need a more focused solution and what tools are available will go a long way. To help with that, we are sharing a lightning talk I’ve given about the subject of Django databases and what is out there.
